AFL Brand

AFL clubs agreed to a Commission on the basis that it would act in the best interests of the game. In short, the game of Australian football would come first.

However, as demonstrated by the tanking controversy, many people are questioning whether the AFL brand is being put first, to the detriment of the game itself.

Does anyone think the AFL was ever going to declare Melbourne guilty of tanking, which would have damaged its brand? The resulting mess was not good for football.

Our great game, not the AFL brand, must always come first.
