It has been alleged that, over the years, the AFL has “permanently borrowed” ideas that have been pitched to them.
These ideas have been presented to the AFL in the belief that, as the keeper of the code, it will do the right thing. The expectation being, of course, that it is only right and fair that people are acknowledged for their hard work.
Unfortunately, however, this is not how it works when it comes to dealing with the AFL.
Just one example is the case of Kim Crawford, the inventor of the Final 8 system used by the AFL.
